I am available to conduct workshops in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. ACT workshops may take a variety of forms and durations. I currently am offering a 2-day workshop that closely models and follows the ACT protocol that my practicum students use. It is a suitable workshop for ACT enthusiasts with beginning or intermediate levels of expertise. The workshop provides an overview and synthesis of the philosophy, theory, and treatment components of ACT, along with a package of materials that may be used with clients for almost any clinical presentation.
I fondly recall the many weekend experiential workshops I have attended by the variety of people who have trained me in this craft. Some of them were life-changing experiences. I believe one of the best ways to begin ACT training or to enhance your ACT skills is through a weekend workshop.
On April 27th and 28th this spring, I will be providing a 2-day experiential workshop providing an overview of the ACT protocol my practicum team has been developing for the past few years. The workshop is sponsored by the Department of Psychology at Southern Illinois University and is being hosted in the SIU Clinical Center. I designed the event to be a very affordable introduction to ACT and also to be useful to intermediate folks who are developing their understanding and delivery of the psychological flexibility model.
